How much smaller will my video be?

It depends on the original. Phone and camera videos often shrink by 50–90% with the Recommended level, because they are recorded at very high bitrates.

Will compression lower the quality?

Light and Recommended keep the picture very close to the original. Strong also lowers the resolution to 720p for the smallest possible file.
