Frequently asked questions

Can I change the existing text in my PDF?

Yes. With Edit Text selected, every line of text in the PDF is outlined — click one and type, just like in a word processor. You can also change its font, size, colour, bold and italic. When you download, the original words are taken out of the file and your new text is written in their place.

Will the edited text use the same font?

The editor picks the closest standard font (sans-serif, serif or monospace) at the same size, weight and colour. Fonts embedded in a PDF usually contain only the letters already used, so an exact copy isn’t possible for new words.

What if my PDF is a scanned document?

Scanned pages are pictures, so there’s no text to edit. Use White-out to cover the old words and Add Text to type new ones.

Can I fill in a PDF form?

Yes. Use the Add Text tool to type into any field, and the Sign tool to add your signature, then download the PDF.

Which languages can I type?

Any language. Latin text is saved as real, selectable PDF text. Other scripts such as Arabic, Chinese or emoji are saved as a sharp image so they always look right.

Can I undo a change?

Yes. Use the Undo button or press Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on Mac). Press Delete to remove the selected item.

Are my files uploaded?

Yes. Conversion runs inside your own web browser, so your files are never uploaded to our servers or anyone else’s. Nobody can see them, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.

Is it free?
